At the age of seventeen, Nikki suffered a severe burnout. She decided to take a time-out and found out how big the taboo on mental health really is. Nikki shaped her own recovery by making a complete change in her lifestyle. In doing so, she discovered that there are countless topics within our society that could be given much more time and attention. Or rather, should be given our immediate attention. After Nikki recovered, she decided to take up the challenge, and wrote her first book The Wise Lessons of a Twentysomething. With this book, she was nominated for several awards.
Nikki casts fulfilling her mission in an entrepreneurial form: she is the founder of training agency Social Shift, through which she offers workshops, training and development programs for youngsters and young professionals. Nikki believes in the power of 21 first century soft skills, because according to her, these are the skills that the leaders of tomorrow will need. She is also the founder of On the Right Track: a communication agency for building human-centered brands. Young as she is, she has extensive experience in guiding companies and individuals to a healthy way of working.
As a keynote speaker, Nikki performed for many schools (such as Avans and BUas), governments, various SMEs and organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Nikki appears regularly in the media (3FM, FunX, General Gazette) and in podcasts. Everywhere she carries her plea for a human-centered workplace with conviction, pride and power. Anyone who focuses on soft skills will achieve hard results at the end of the line.
